Kritika Soni

Kritika Soni is a ceramic artist based in Delhi, India, where she operates her full-time practice from her studio. Holding a Master's degree in Textile Design from Chelsea College of Arts, London, she was not only recognized for her talent but also awarded a full scholarship during her academic journey.

Kritika runs her own studio, aptly named 'Kara Sabi.' The name pays homage to the timeless Japanese aesthetic philosophy of Wabi Sabi, a concept that reveres the beauty found in the aged, weathered, and imperfect, which heavily influences Kritika’s art practice.

Kritika's artistic vision is deeply rooted in the rich tapestry of human experiences, particularly the intricate emotions and transformations. Consequently, Kritika's ceramic creations serve as a visual homage to life's imperfections, ultimately infusing each piece with profound character and enduring beauty. Kritika's background in textile design enables her to skilfully integrate textures and colours, merging two seemingly disparate artistic mediums to create art that is both visually striking and emotionally resonant. Kritika has been honoured with a Junior Fellowship in 'Pottery and Ceramics' by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India in 2018.
